I adore spinels and our first tea ring was created with a storm spinel. These gems are so rare, that they grow in price and their colours are a unique mystery. In comparison to sapphires, their surface is like a liquid still water. When I first time met a spinel gem I cried. Spinel is the reason why we very rarely work with tourmalines (aside of paraiba). Because the light work is above the tone and vividness to my taste.
